Serial Fan Posts: 4094 11-Apr-09 12:32 ezOP	JADM, this has been my rather long response to your comment about DANGER ISLAND -- this is the version with the black hero. I have always really enjoyed this because it is berserk and action-packed but not mean-spirited. The pie fight (which is an abomination to Ace) could easily have been done with blood instead but how ugly that would have been! I like the action in this, the humor, everything about it. It is so fast and furious you don't even know half the characters' names most of the time!

Serial Fan Posts: 4098 11-Apr-09 08:31 ezOP	You are welcome but you should also thank the guy on YouTube who posted it, it must have taken forever. BTW this serial was pointed to frequently in the "too much violence on kids' TV" campaign of about 1970 which led to the very tame SHAZAM and ISIS type shows that followed. I do remember one scene that shocked me as a kid in which they pulled a skeleton out of the big pit on a rope. I don't remember whether there had been a guy on the rope first or not. The guy who played Chongo was apparently an experienced stunt man -- maybe with not a very good acting voice hence the YYIYIYIYI stuff!
