THE TREY O'HEARTS, filmed only very shortly after WHAT HAPPENED TO MARY, was one of the first serials to include wide-ranging action designed to appeal to both men and women. Since no elements of the film are known to exist, the Squadron is making this little-known but exciting epic to you in printed form, with many original stills included in their proper places within the narrative.
The story is brisk and active, dominated by a love triangle involving the hero's object of affection and her evil twin sister who at first does everything in her power to murder him because her father blames him for his ruination, then matters become more complicated as she too develops affection for him. The playing card is a symbol of the hero's being marked for death by the villain, a Middleton-lookalike named Seneca Trine.
The book is complete and going to press this week.
Future Squadron photonovel releases will include THE BLACK BOX, featuring Herbert Rawlinson as a detective named Quest, and the Houdini serial THE MASTER MYSTERY.
